
MARK WHITEHILL ( HEAD TEACHER: GAYTON PRIMARY SCHOOL, WIRRAL, ENGLAND )
Mark Whitehill is the Headteacher of an outstanding primary school in North West England. Prior to this, he worked as Headteacher of a large Primary school and has extensive experience from 28 years of leading teaching and learning in schools with widely varying contexts in North West England.
He has a Bachelor’s degree with honours in Education, the Certificate in the Advanced Study of Education and was one of the first graduates of the National Professional Qualification for Headship programme. Gayton Primary School was designated an ‘outstanding’ school in its most recent OFSTED inspection, with particular attention given to the outstanding quality of leadership, teaching and learning in the school. He and his colleague Margaret Jackson are designated lead teachers developing international links between a group of North Indian and Wirral schools. He strongly wishes to enhance this relationship in order to further develop the strength of links to India. This will be achieved through sharing best practice in order to enhance and develop the analysis and planning of high quality improvement plans for curriculum, management and staff development.
